Huang tianghua

Professor of Biology and Genetics, Shantou University Medical College. The specialist enjoying the special allowance from government approved by the State Council of China since 1992.

He graduated from the Postgraduate Class of Harbin Medical University in 1982. Then he, as a visiting scholar, went to Asahikawa Medical College in Japan (1986), Medical School of Hawaii University (1988) and Medical College of Cornell University in USA (1996-1998) to do research on the genetics of germ cells, the biology of fertilization and the reproductive medicine.

His research interests include the transmission of infectious viruses via human germline and the cytogenetic effects of environmental factors on human gametes. He has published 186 academic articles, and received academic prizes including the second prize of the 7th ROYAN International Research Award issued by the Scientific Committee of Royan International Research Award, Tehran Iran (2006), the Prize for Development of Science & Technology issued by the Ministry of Health of China (1998), the Prize for Development of Science & Technology issued by the Ministry of Chemical Industry of China (1995), the Prize for Development of Science & Technology issued by the Sichuan Provincial Government (1992) and the Prize for Development of Science & Technology issued by the State Family Planning Commission of China (1989).

For his outstanding work, he has been awarded the honorable titles including the Model Worker by Shantou Municipal Government (2000), the Advanced Worker by Guangdong Provincial Government (1997), the National Excellent Teacher by The State Educational Commission and The Ministry of Human Affairs of China (1995) and the National Excellent Researcher by The State Family Planning Commission of China (1991).
